Oh, my.

Doesn’t this look absolutely delicious? Cranberry sauce with almond cake. Oh, my.

Anne getting married. (Or getting ready to get married.)

See more on the blog.

31 - 6:44 pm Brandi Morris - SMUKT, SMUKT, SMUKT!

Bridal Waltz

Following dinner every night of the week leading up to Anne & Niels’ wedding, they practiced the Bridal Waltz.  Volume up loud, to better hear the beat of the music before they collapsed in each others’ arms, giggling like smitten second-graders.

31 - 12:08 pm Molly W. - Those cutie patootie Danes. :)

Sparklers

I think every event should be celebrated with sparklers.

(From a recent wedding I photographed.)

31 - 12:08 pm Molly W. - Its down right cruel to only show 1 shot!! MORE MORE MORE!

Aarhus.

My first day in Denmark had me wandering the snow-covered side streets of Aarhus, the charming city I lived in lo those many years ago.  Absence certainly makes this heart grow fonder.

31 - 9:26 pm Brandi Morris - :(

31 - 9:57 pm Joby Twigg - Ah,this looks so lovely! Glad you had a good trip down memory lane, Kelly!

31 - 9:30 am Brandi Myers - Reminds me a little of Brugge, Belgium. LOVE the pram picture! So glad you got to go!

31 - 10:49 am Molly W. - Oh man, so gorg! I wish I was there w/ you! I esp love that pic of the pram out there in the snow, those Danes and their big ol' prams! :)

DK Bound

Tomorrow morning I’m leaving the moderately cold Midwest for the moderately cold Northern Europe.  Chicago is having an unseasonably warm winter so the weather forecast for Chicago and where I’m headed in Denmark are exactly the same, hovering right around 34′ishF.  Although many people flee the Midwest in winter for warmer climates, I was just glad that I didn’t have to think hard about what to pack.  Now I can just follow this system: Do Laundry, Fold, Pack. Easy peasy!

Unfortunately my short trip will not allow me to see these two faces

But I can’t wait to see this face and celebrate with her as she marries the man she loves!

I’ll also be celebrating the Hot dog by eating lots of them as well as lots of Jensens Boef Hus chicken and special sauce. (I’m salivating already.)

PS. And for the crazy would-be stalkers/robbers, please note that not only do we have a fancy new security system, but someone is apartment-sitting.

28 - 11:07 am Molly W. - So sad to not see J and JA!! SO JEALOUS that you get to see those hot dogs and hooray for being with special friends and celebrating weddings!! Have a GREAT time friend, wish I could squeeze in your suitcase and come too!!!! SAFE TRAVELS. xo

Thank you, Molly!

Now that I’ve followed Rule #1, I’ll move on to Rule #2.

Copied and pasted.

Rule #3 requires that I link to the person who nominated me for this award.  Done.

In honor of Rule #4, allow me to share a few interesting things about me, no more, no less than precisely seven.

  1. After several years of avoiding Twilight fever, I recently gave in and read the four books in 6 days.
  2. I sleep with a bedroom window open year round, even in sub-zero temperatures.  I love the crisp cold on my face.
  3. I dislike mushrooms so much that I don’t feel guilty lying and saying I’m allergic to get out of eating them.
  4. While in Denmark next week I plan to eat several French Hotdogs. I <3 them.  And Jensen’s Boef Hus chicken & sauce.
  5. My favorite Easter candy is…I’ll give you one guess.
  6. I used to believe I was an organized person. And then the bags of old mail and junk stashed in closets gave me away.
  7. If I could afford it, I’d own several houses and decorate each in a different style.

Lastly, Rule #5 encourages me to bestow this honor upon 7 other Beautiful Bloggers.  In no particular order, I nominate Sarah, Kelly B, Jen M, Ginger (even though her blog is private), Phoebe, Lizzie and Michelle.  Congrats, ladies! It’s your lucky day. :-P

28 - 8:32 pm Molly W. - Ah, thanks for humoring me Kels. :) I'm SO jealous of the hot dogs you are about to partake in!!! Wish I could come w/ you!

And the gluttony continued

Remember when I posted about driving to Washington to partake of the culinary delight that is Weinerschnitzel? Well, there was a Krispy Kreme right across the street that was feeling a little left out.

28 - 12:06 pm Molly W. - Um...YUM. I can't remember the last time I had KK....lucky girls who got to go on that little road trip. :) (and O)

Footwear

I love the taste in footwear a couple three-year-olds of my acquaintance have. Both fashionable and serviceable for the Pacific Northwest weather.

28 - 11:26 am Molly W. - Cute footwear fo sho!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

28 - 4:54 pm Brandi Morris - Over the past month or so that she has been picking out her own ensembles, I can report that those cowboy boots are worn EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. I love Owen's camo boots. He informed us that day that he also wants a camo outfit.

Trike riding

Miss this funny girl.  Miss all my kiddos.

31 - 8:14 pm Molly W. - she's a sweet pea thats for sure!! B sure loves her too.

31 - 11:07 am Brandi Morris - What's really funny is that although she treasures this trike, she's really only riden it...two or three times because "it's just too slow" compared with her hot rod skuut bike. Funny.

31 - 11:20 am Kelly - AND, the trike isn't actually very sturdy, or at least not on your sidewalks and she was upset when it tipped over and pinned her down. :-)
